When to Hedge

Hedging makes sense when an early-bet has reached a high implied value and you want to lock in guaranteed profit; common at the end of long parlays or on live moneylines that have shifted dramatically in your favor.

Note that hedging always sacrifices some expected value to reduce variance. If you have edge on your original bet, hedging gives some of it back. Use hedges to protect outsized wins, not as a default strategy.
